Introduction

Plugd is the location-based networking platform where people can update posts, traffic & crime alerts, reviews or news on a particular neighborhood or locality. Other people in the same neighborhood or locality can view these posts and can interact with them via comments & likes similar to Facebook.

Using Plugd, people from the same neighborhood/locality can able to chat with each other and can able to post an update by adding the photo(s) within the selected venue. One interesting feature is whenever there is a crime & safety alert or traffic alert, all the users around the selected radius of distance will be notified.

Meal ordering is another important module in Plugd. When a user enters any restaurant, he can able to view the menu and reviews/ratings of that restaurant. He can even order the food by adding the required items to cart. Restaurant manager can view the order from Restaurant Managing website, and he can process the order. Once the order is delivered, the user will get an option to add his experience and rate the meal, which may be helpful for other users.

This app also adds the security or privacy to user profiles, where the user can decide the level of content that can be shown publicly. When a user is viewing other user’s profile, Plugd highlights the common interests and number of common Facebook friends with that user. There are many other options like subscribing to the post, blocking/unblocking the user, following, reporting the post, etc which ensures the security/privacy for user data and filters the spam data.
